Welcome to Amanda Macenko's Softball page.This web page was put together so I can put information in here about Amanda's games. As much as I loved to play softball, nothing quite compares to when you watch your children play. I am now a addict for fastpitch softball. Amanda has finished her first year at Cleveland State University. She is majoring in Physical Education.
The 2006 softball season was quite a year for Cleveland State. They ended up in second place with a late season surge that saw them win 11 games in a row including a sweep of UIC on one weekend and then Detroit the following.
The 2006 softball season was quite a year for Cleveland State. The team went on a little run of it's own during the Horizon League Championships. They lost their first game to Wright State before they started their march back through the losers bracket to defeat UW-Green Bay, Loyola (Season Leader), Butler, UIC before they lost a heartbreaker to Wright State 7-3 in 8 innings. Christa Coppus and Amanda Houchin were named 1st Team All Horizon League for their in season performance. Amanda Macenko was tabbed for second team Horizon League and was voted onto the All Newcomer 1st team. State put together a nice run to finish runner up in the championship. Christa Coppus led the tournament with a .545 batting average. Lia Gordon caught fire and hit 3 homeruns in consecutive games to help Cleveland State on its run back through the losers bracket.
