Welcome to Amanda Macenko's Softball page.This web page was put
together so Amanda's family and friends can follow her collegiate softball career. Amanda is one of the hardest working athletes that I know of and she deserves all the best in the world. She loves to play the game of fast pitch softball and will do whatever it takes to help her teammates win the ball game. She is has the same temperament as her parents and absolutely hates to lose. As much as I loved to play softball, nothing quite compares to when you watch your children play. I am now an addict for fast pitch softball. Amanda has finished her second year at Cleveland State University. She has changed her major and now is majoring in Communications.
The 2008 softball season was quite a year for the Cleveland State Vikings softball team. They ended up winning the Horizon League for the very first time in school history. They defeated Valpo on the very last day of the season to clinch the title. They did very well again in the playoffs only to see Wright State beat them for the championship once again. Cleveland State lost to Wright State in 2007 for the title..
In 2008 Macenko received the League’s top pitching honor Pitcher of the Year after she led the circuit in eight categories, including earned-run average (1.41), innings pitched (243.0) and wins (26). In 2008, the Ohio native struck out 10 or more batters on six occasions and was selected as the League’s Pitcher of the Week 3 more times. In her freshman season the CSU righthander was named to the All-Newcomer team. She also made first team all tourney during the league playoffs as well as being selected Player Of The Week 4 times

2007 - Freshman Season Garnered second team All Horizon League honors after setting a school record with 26 wins and 227.1 innings of work...appeared in 41 games, starting 31 and went 26 - 10 overall with two saves and a 1.79 ERA...hurled 153 strikeoputs...led the leaugue in wins...went 3 - 2 with 21 strikeouts in 6 appearances at Horizon League Championship, garnering all tournament team honors.
For 2009 Amanda is looking for more good things to come to her Cleveland State Vikings Softball team...
